Before starting the program at Herzing, I had worked as a psych nurse for quite some time. It was a no-brainer for me to start my MSN-PMHNP with that experience! Once I decided that’s what I wanted to do, I started looking at schools and found Herzing. It seemed great, so I jumped right into the program.
During my classes, I faced various personal challenges like divorce, mental health issues, a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis, homelessness, job loss, and the death of a family member. Despite a tough three years, I'm grateful for the support I received during this time from Herzing.
I'm thankful for the faculty and staff here, especially my advisor. Without her, I might not have completed the program. Her constant encouragement kept me motivated and gave me the confidence to finish strong. Things may have been hard, but I made it and feel stronger as a result.
Future students, remember to be passionate, stay curious and never give up. That's the path to success!
